Sampling planned for future projects
Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) has engaged geotechnical sampling equipment to conduct investigations in Gladstone Harbour from December 5.
It will be examining soil properties for maritime structures – such as navigational aids and mooring structures.
The works are expected to take approximately two to three weeks.
The equipment will be mounted on a jack up barge.
The drilling rig will be equipped for rotary drilling and rock coring, to enable field tests and the collection of both disturbed and undisturbed samples for laboratory testing.
Those out on the water are reminded to be aware of the jack up barge and take caution when in the area.
