Apprenticeships
Each year we employ apprentices in the Mechanical, Electrical, Carpentry, Plumbing and Refrigeration fields.

Traineeships
We are committed to offering training opportunities for local youth. Our youth development project provides local young people with on the job skills they require for a promising career.

We also host the Gladstone Industries’ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Youth Employment Program, which sees the placement of program trainees with a host of employers in the Gladstone area including the Port of Gladstone. A privately owned Gladstone-based recruitment and human resource and industrial relations consulting company is contracted by GPC to employ the trainees and an Indigenous mentor.

Work Experience
We operate two work experience programs, a Work Placement Scheme and a Vacational Placement Scheme. Our Work Placement Scheme gives high school students an opportunity to view, first hand, the many and varied career opportunities available throughout GPC, while our Vacational Placement Scheme allows university students to gain valuable work experience.
