GPC has an ongoing commitment to provide residents and visitors to Gladstone with greater access to the waterfront through the provision of exceptional parklands and facilities such as the Marina Parklands, Spinnaker Park and the East Shores – Gladstone Coal Exporters Maritime Precinct.
Together they put Gladstone on the map as being home to one of Australia's most outstanding Marina foreshore developments and recreational waterfront facilities.
Our parklands provide a place for residents and visitors alike to make use of facilities including a water play park, bbq and picnic areas, sheltered seating areas, public amenities, a beached cove, native wetlands and ponds and 2.5 kilometres of walking tracks.
GPC Marina Parklands and Spinnaker Park
Year in, year out, locals and visitors embrace the GPC’s Marina Parklands and Spinnaker Park as a venue for numerous events such as weddings, birthday parties, christenings and community events. The Marina is also home to several high profile events including GPC's Botanic to Bridge, Gladstone’s Harbour Festival, the Multicultural Festival and Carols by Candlelight.
Whilst GPC can’t reserve shelters or bbqs for community members, If you are looking to have a function in the Marina Parklands that involves the use of a marquee, amusement rides such as jumping castles or has over 50 attendees, you can apply for a permit to use a specific area. Please ensure you are aware of our conditions of use for our Marina Parklands.
Dogs are permitted within the Marina and Spinnaker Parklands and must be kept on a leash at all times.

Spinnaker Park is a gated facility, open 5am to 10pm each day, all year round.
East Shores - Gladstone Coal Exporters Maritime Precinct
GPC, in partnership with Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal (WICET), transformed Stage 1A of the East Shores – Gladstone Coal Exporters Maritime Precinct Development into Gladstone’s newest place to play!
Stage 1A of the precinct spans from what was Joseph Banks Park to the Auckland Point Terminal end of Flinders Parade and includes a water play park, waterfront boardwalk incorporating a viewing platform, bbqs and an abundance of green, open space to play.
East Shores provides a world-class recreational precinct for Gladstone residents and visitors of all ages to meet, relax, exercise and enjoy the foreshore area.
Please ensure you are aware of our conditions of use for East Shores when planning your visit to the precinct. As East Shores is a venue for everyone, areas within the precinct cannot be reserved for personal, commercial or community events.
East Shores Water Play Park operating hours
- December to February: 9am to 8pm
- March to May: 9am to 6pm
- June to August: 9am to 5pm
- September to November: 9am to 8pm
Parklands events and functions
If you are looking at holding a function in the Marina or Spinnaker Parklands for over 50 attendees or involves the use of a marquee and/or amusement rides such as jumping castles, we encourage you to
apply for permission to use a specific area. A bond may be applicable.
Please note, applying for permission to use a specific area of the Parklands does not entitle the user to exclusive use of that specific area if already occupied by the general public.

Alcohol consumption is allowed in certain areas of the parklands between 10am and 8.30pm. The
Marina Parklands wet areas and
Spinnaker Park wet areas illustrate the designated areas where alcohol can be consumed.
Glass is prohibited in the Parklands at all times.
