Home About GPC Our Mascot

GPC has its very own mascot – Curtis the Turtle. Since his introduction in 2007, Curtis has become a popular guest at many Gladstone community events. Curtis the Turtle was first conceptualised in the late 90s, yet he wasn’t officially named until 2001.

The cartoon character turtle was named by a community member, following a competition to name the port mascot. Curtis had a small burst of fame following his naming, however truly came to life at GPC’s 2007 Port Open Day. The life size costume, created by Melbourne based company OddBodz, dazzled Open Day visitors.

Curtis the Turtle is the first Gladstone industry mascot and has fast become a household name within the Gladstone community.
Curtis the Turtle is available for community events held at the Gladstone Marina.
