Beautification works at the Port of Bundaberg
A hive of activity throughout 2020, the Port of Bundaberg has seen a multitude of projects underway, with Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) continuing to work diligently unlocking the Port of Bundaberg's economic potential.
With the right planning and vision now in place, several memorandums of understanding signed, and key safety projects nearing completion, the port will continue to flourish into the new year.
Receiving a new office fit out during 2020, Port of Bundaberg Manager, Jason Pascoe is delighted to see so much investment into the port area.
“2020 has been a challenging year with the global pandemic, but has caused very little disruption to our works going on in the port area," Mr Pascoe said.
“We have seen investment in not only in the port itself, but also in local trainees who have been putting their green thumbs to work.
“Our Port of Bundaberg office received a face lift so have our grounds with the help of the Gidarjil Development Corporation trainees," he said.
Landscaping around the Port of Bundaberg office and public access area adjacent to the Sugar Terminal Wharf has been undertaken by trainees participating in a Skilling Queenslanders for Work program being managed by the Gidarjil Development Corporation.
The landscaping project has provided trainees with a multi-faceted landscaping project to develop new skills under the supervision of expert trainers.
Acting CEO Craig Walker said the GPC team has been working tirelessly to develop the port's potential, continuing to work with key stakeholders on the prosperity of the region.
“There are exciting new export and infrastructure opportunities in the works which are all part of GPC's strategic vision," Mr Walker said.
Resolute on creating success for the communities in which they operate, GPC looks forward to seeing projects such as the Buss and Newman Streets upgrade reach completion and port capability growing with exciting projects such as the Pacific Marine Base Bundaberg on the horizon.
GPC are resolute in their commitment to the Port of Bundaberg, focused on expanding prospects and facilitating prosperity – a unique opportunity which GPC looks forward to exploring with key stakeholders.
