Choice – Passion – Life
Delivering support to Queenslanders for over 70 years, Choice, Passion, Life (CPL) will be continuing their work after securing $16,000 in sponsorship from Gladstone Ports Corporation’s (GPC) Community Investment Program.
Formerly known as the Cerebral Palsy League, CPL is a leading provider of integrated support, therapy and advice for people living with a disability in Queensland and Northern NSW.
Providing a social enterprise in Landscape and Garden Maintenance, the CPL Mylestones Garden Crew Equipment Project provides employment for 18 people in the Gladstone and Rockhampton regions.
GPC Acting CEO Craig Walker said the program allows people with a disability to undertake garden maintenance contracts within their community.
“This program provides meaningful employment and economic participation to community members that struggle to secure employment,” Mr Walker said.
“I think it is a fantastic initiative in our community, and it is great to see the Garden Crews now permanently established in Gladstone and Rockhampton.”
The CPL Mylestones Garden Crew was initially established as a start-up program with limited equipment.
Now permanently established, CPL Mylestones Garden Crew will use the sponsorship to purchase commercial grade equipment to keep up with the demands of their growing social enterprise.
