Flinders Memorial relocation

The Flinders Memorial commemorates the 150th anniversary of the arrival of Matthew Flinders to Gladstone region in 1802.

As part of future works along Flinders Parade, the memorial has been removed and the commemorative plaque will be placed near the Matthew Flinders Marina Bridge.

The new location will maintain the connection with Matthew Flinders and the history of Gladstone, and will enable greater exposure to the public.

It is anticipated the new Flinders Memorial plaque will be completed by the end of the month.
