Paint the Port art competition

GPC is calling for participation in the 2024 Paint the Port art competition.  The competition provides artists from Gladstone, Rockhampton or Bundaberg with an opportunity to present their unique portrayal of port activities or infrastructure for a chance to win cash prizes. 

Artwork is to be pieces; ready to hang or display, using any medium (i.e. paint, pencil, charcoal, collage, digital works etc.). Primary School artwork is to be A4 size only with a preference for paper.

Prizes

The winning entry in each category will receive the following:

Open Category

  • Winner – $1,000 acquisitive cash prize
  • Encouragement Award – $500 cash prize

High School Category

  • Winner – $350 cash prize
  • Encouragement Award – $175 cash prize

Upper Primary School Category (Year 4 to Year 6)  – A4 size only

  • Winner – $75 cash prize
  • Encouragement Award – $40 cash prize

Lower Primary School Category (Prep to Year 3) – A4 size only 

  • Winner – $50 cash prize
  • Encouragement Award – $25 cash prize

Submission

Please review our 2024 Paint the Port Art Competition Terms and Conditions prior to submitting your artwork.

Artists are required to submit their artwork and register in person with their submission form on
Friday 8 March and Saturday 9 March at ARTmatters Gallery – 3 Pitt Street, Gladstone.
Early delivery of artwork is acceptable however, late delivery will not be accepted.

Details regarding artwork collection after the event will be communicated to entrants.

Paint the Port Exhibition

Artwork will be displayed at the Paint the Port Exhibition at ARTmatters Gallery, 3 Pitt Street, Gladstone from Thursday 21 March to Thursday 18 April 2024, with the winners announced on our Facebook page.
